I just retrieved wml-1.6.8, and tried to build it. No luck. This is on
SGI O2, running Irix 6.5.2.

The problem is in the configure script -

    checking host system type... mips-sgi-irix6.5
    checking for gcc... (cached) cc
    checking whether the C compiler (cc  ) works... no
    configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler
    cannot create executables.

Previous versions (through 1.6.7) note that gcc is not available, but
continue and build successfully.
