Specifying an alternate output extension

Hi,
I remember there was a discussion on the list about giving all your wml
output files another name/location on the fly (without using shebang lines
in every .wml file). Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it in the
archives anymore. So here it goes:
I'd like to put some line in .wmkrc or .wmlrc (someone please explain the
difference to me):
-o $(WML_SRC_BASE).shtml
and then execute 'wmk' in a directory with .wml files, so that .shtml
files are generated and not .html files. Unfortunately, the WML_SRC_BASE
environment variable is not getting parsed.
Can anyone help me?
