i thought you were using some computer-engineering phrase
with a special context. but never mind...

yes, that works well.

if you want to make decisions based upon contents of
"lang-"variables (which are different in each language), 
you won't get to any solution. we (i at least) have severe 
problems here.

wml is not working that way. wml processes streams and
cannot divide into threads. that's why slices are used at
the end.
that is not easy to change because the single steps rely on
each other and rely on the processorder because of several 
reasons. one of them is the philosophy of wml itself: put
together useful tools and use it as a whole.
but nevertheless why not thinking about a different
approach? preprocess - process - postprocess?
