wml 2.0.2, perl 5.6, and static modules

I built perl 5.6 with a few static modules (those I use fairly often).

Since then, any attempt to build wml 2.0.2 fails during the ePerl stage
on something related to those static modules:

eperl_perl5.c: In function `Perl5_XSInit':
eperl_perl5.c:58: `boot_Fcntl' undeclared (first use in this function)
eperl_perl5.c:58: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
eperl_perl5.c:58: for each function it appears in.)
eperl_perl5.c:58: `boot_IO' undeclared (first use in this function)
eperl_perl5.c:58: `boot_IPC__SysV' undeclared (first use in this function)
eperl_perl5.c:58: `boot_POSIX' undeclared (first use in this function)
eperl_perl5.c:58: `boot_Socket' undeclared (first use in this function)
make[2]: *** [eperl_perl5.o] Error 1

I dug for a bit, but I really don't understand what this code is trying
to do...anyone know what's going on here? Just point me in the right
direction and I can probably dig up the problem...I'm just not sure
where to start.
