Perl in xtable

Hi!
I can't use any Perl statements inside a <xtable> </xtable>.
wml exits with the following message:
> ePerl:Error: Perl parsing error (interpreter rc=2)
>
> ---- Contents of STDERR channel: ---------
> Can't find string terminator "__XTABLE__EOT" anywhere before EOF at
> /tmp/wml.11585.tmp1 line 541.
> ------------------------------------------
> ** WML:Break: Error in Pass 3 (rc=74).
The same perl-code outside the xtable runs fine.
Can someone reproduce this behaviour?
Oops, I'm using wml 1.6.8 with perl 5.004_04
Bye,
Carsten

The whole is the sum of its parts, plus one or more bugs
