For XML, I do not have examples, but it quite easy to be XHTML 1.0
compliant, see for instance http://www.engelschall.com/sw/mp4h/
You only have to take care to trailing slashes in your empty elements,
and add -W2,--expansion=0 in your toplevel .wmlrc
